Converse’s New One Star Mule Is Part Sneaker, Part Sandal

With summer here in full swing, shoes are getting a heat-ready makeover. However, if you’re not up for leaving behind your sneaker fetish only because the sun is being furious, worry no more. Along with Reebok, Converse also has a treat for you.
The all-favorite Converse One Star sneakers have gotten a new low-cut design transforming the iconic pair into sneaker-sandals. The eye-catchy design has a slipper-like rear allowing you to slip your feet in and out conveniently. Whereas the front of the shoe is that of a sneaker complete with laces.
Summers are the time of the year when most people stuff their sneakers and covered up footwear options at the back of their wardrobes. The complete feet covered look is trendy still, but not practical because of the glaring heat.
Letting your feet breathe is essential because keeping them stuffed comes with cons like bad odor and heavy perspiration which can further lead to infections as well. That said, sneaker mules are just the right innovation as they allow your feet to catch some air.
Not to forget, the versatile design aligns with the trends of today and is also hassle-free to sport. These Converse One Star mules would look lovely paired with any outfit choice. The design comes in three colorways; black, rush coral, and egret.
While the black and egret ones can contrast and match with most of your apparel choices, the rush coral colored ones can be called a blend of popping and pastel. Apart from the body shape update, these sneaker mules are very much like the original Converse One Star model.
Featuring a suede upper and a rubber outsole, these sneakers are simple yet trendy. The footbed of the shoes has an OrthoLite insole that offers superior support and cushioning. The sneakers are designed to be sturdy and comfy enough for everyday wear.
The midsole has a black stripe running around, stopping as the shoe reaches its front. The sneakers have white laces that are more for the show than for functionality. Apart from this, finesse in details can be spotted from the detailed stitching. The traditional star representing the brand has also been placed on the sidewalls in the form of cut-out details with white showing from beneath.
The mule design is not a new one, though. We’ve seen several similar models by other brands in the past as well. Nike and others have covered this style in varying forms some featuring embroidery, denim, and other intricate or obvious details.
Not a fan of these mules and are on the lookout for another similar style? Check out the Reebok Club C 85 sneaker mules that also came out recently. If you’d prefer to stick to Converse sneakers, the brand has its new One Star shoes in candy red and bubblegum pink out too. The Converse One Star mules are more on the affordable side, priced at $65. You can make them yours at select retail stores.
